Christianah Oki

Christianah Oki is a parasitologist and One Health professional conducting research on the genomics of urogenital schistosomiasis. Her work investigates the epidemiology and hybridisation between Schistosoma species, unravelling how genetic recombination drives pathogenicity and impacts treatment efficacy. She combines molecular tools with clinical insights to address female genital schistosomiasis and advance genomic approaches for detecting infectious diseases. She mentors emerging researchers and students to develop sustainable, locally led solutions to eliminate NTDs.
