CERI Fellows & African STARS Reunion Stellenbosch University Homecoming Weekend

Five years ago, CERI set out to build Africa’s capacity to detect, respond to and contain its own epidemics. Today, more than 900 trained fellows across the continent are proof that it is working.

Whether you spent 10 days or 4 months with us, the African STARS fellowship and CERI’s wider training programmes connected you to a community of scientists shaping the continent’s response to infectious disease. This September, that community comes together for the first time.

As part of the Stellenbosch University Annual Homecoming Weekend, CERI hosts its inaugural Fellows and African STARS Reunion;  an exclusive gathering of 60 fellows and alumni for a morning of networking, peer connection and dialogue on where African science goes next.

Matie Winemakers Showcase Saturday 12 September | 11:00 to 16:00 | Alumni Clubhouse Experience a selection of premium wines from over 20 Matie winemakers and mingle with fellow alumni.

Matieland Concert Saturday, 12 September | 17:00 | Endler Hall An evening showcasing Matie performers and a special performance by the Stellenbosch University Choir on its 90th anniversary.
