Dr. Edna HOUNSA is a Beninese microbiologist and pharmacologist focused on medicinal plants. Her award-winning research investigates antibacterial and antidiarrheal properties of traditional remedies, promoting their safe use and contribution to combating antimicrobial resistance. She has been nationally recognized for her innovation in phytomedicine and is committed to integrating African knowledge systems into modern health solutions. Through the STARS fellowship, she continues her work in local capacity building and health innovation.
