Joel Kabugo is a biomedical laboratory scientist and infectious disease researcher in Uganda. He holds an MSc in Clinical Immunology and Microbiology from Makerere University and a Lee Jong Wook fellowship from the Korean Institute of Tuberculosis. With over nine years at Uganda National Health Laboratory and Diagnostic Service, he supports and mentors labs across Sub-Saharan Africa. Passionate about infectious disease R&D, his research covers mycobacterial infections, quality management, and diagnostics, with several publications. He leads the TWG on research and innovation at Uganda NHLDS.
