Amusa is a Ugandan clinical microbiologist with an MSc in Immunology and Clinical Microbiology. He has contributed significantly to project management, coordination, clinical diagnostics, and research at Makerere University and beyond. Currently a PhD fellow at LSTM under the NIHR-VacAMR program, his research investigates pneumococcal genome diversity, vaccine-escape, and immune evasion. He is passionate about building Africa’s capacity in vaccine development and surveillance, with a vision of ensuring long, healthy lives for all Africans.
